Obama is truly a legend in his own mind (and MSM's).

Me, Myself and I
President Obama’s epic egotism is reaching such stratospheric heights that it now rivals that of even the mighty John Edwards, self-proclaimed Most Beautiful Man Alive™.
According to Fox News, the president has managed to talk about himself 1,198 times during a mere 41 speeches so far this year.
Not bad!
But, really, what better topic is there?
The choice is either to speechify about the myriad problems afflicting the US (boooorrrring!) or wax lyrical on an issue of which he never tires - his very own self.
This should come as no surprise, after all, from the man who saw fit to give Queen Elizabeth II an iPod stuffed to bursting with a variety of photos/songs/speeches, all of which centered around, erm, him.
Sure, he’s a member of pretty much the most elite club going, but one’s achievements are amplified by modesty and diminished by pride, a lesson that the 44th president has yet to learn.
Could it perhaps be that the popular worship of the president, led by the ever-faithful MSM, is contributing to his exaggerated sense of self?
Just try telling me that this shrine wouldn’t make you believe your own hype.
Enjoy it while you can, Mr. President, because nothing lasts forever.

Allegra's Corner had this from Pacific John.  Compares folks like the DU crowd to Bushbots. Bet they hate that comparison.  lol

There's a difference between mocking them and sinking to their level

Read Glenn on our side's ridiculous example of the latter. It's his usual daily tour de force.
Pacific John :: There's a difference between mocking them and sinking to their level

The democrats or liberals who don't believe in questioning Obama about anything at all are mirror images of Bushbots on the right. Remember that 30 percent who continued to support Bush in the polls regardless of what he did? Well they have counterparts on the left now, but those idiots on the left can't see the forest for the trees. Imagine how shocked they will be when they discover how robotic and brainwashed they are, just like the people they used to laugh at.

I'm embarrassed to say this, but I was watching one of those entertainment shows and they had someone on who wrote a book about the celebrity phenomenon.  She said that celebrities today are oftentimes famous for not doing anything (i.e. Paris Hilton) and people continue to be interested in them because they reflect the public's own narcissism.  In other words, people don't question the fact that someone like P. Hilton is undeserving of fame because the public itself is thinking that they should be famous themselves whether or not they've done something of value with their lives.  I think young people, especially, see BO as a celebrity and might not care that he hasn't done much.  They do buy into that notion that certain people have a celebrity "aura."  Therefore, as a narcissist BO represents where we are as a society.  He is a mirror to our dysfunctional world.  When society's shallow values change, then maybe we'll be able to elect better leaders and we will get out of the mess we're in.  I think HC was just too substantial a person to have been elected president at this point in time (the era of the celebrity narcissist).

Now, the question I'm wondering about is how did we become so celebrity driven and narcissistic?  BO was spewed out from our culture.  How did we get this way and how did we produce this person?
