Barack Obama is finding out that Diana, Princess of Wales was right - “Being a princess isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.”

The embarrassment-in-chief is the subject of the Washington Post’s polite form of political obituary for the still breathing - “The Post asked political experts what he could do to regain the initiative.” Even the brain-stem deprived Donna Brazile is mustered into the effort to save Princess Obama.

As Jennifer Rubin at Commentary Magazine put it: “Well, it’s never a good sign when mainstream papers are running symposiums to examine what, if anything, can be done to save the remainder of the president’s term.”

Left Liberals like Amy Goodman at Truthdig seem to suggest that as a first step Obama cease some of the more obvious corruptions, which he used to campaign against:

It looked like it was business as usual for President Barack Obama on the first day of his Martha’s Vineyard vacation, as he spent five hours golfing with Robert Wolf, president of UBS Investment Bank and chairman and CEO of UBS Group Americas. Wolf, an early financial backer of Obama’s presidential campaign, raised $250,000 for him back in 2006, and in February was appointed by the president to the White House’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board. Economic recovery for whom?

Amy is miffed that Obama is seen in flagrante delicto with Wolf - a creature heavy laden with so many tax, um, issues. It’s bad form, Barack.

As heartbreaking as Amy’s complaints are, they do not begin to compare with the whiney howls of the Hopium addled coming from the west coast. Grab your hankies, pry open the tissue boxes, and try not to laugh at this sad skull in search for a brain:

After eight years of Bush, and then the Palin nomination, we were battered and anguished and punch-drunk. But in rallying behind you, we came back to life, like in Ezekiel when the prophet breathes the spirit of bearing witness and caring onto the dry bones, and those bones come back to life, become living people again, cherished and tended to.

Can you believe such foolishness? Is this an actual grown-up? What insult is sufficient to describe the level of stupidity evidenced in this letter from “author” Anne Lamott to her majesty Barack Obama?

More from the comic ignorance of Lamott:

I hate to sound like a betrayed 7-year-old, but you said. And we believed you. Now you seem to have abandoned the dream. That is why moderates and liberals and progressives like myself all seem a little tense this summer. It is time to call your spirit back. We will be here to help when you get back from vacation.

Lamott ends her letter with “Trusting you, Mr. Obama.” This is a truly stupid woman.
